Kenya Airports Authority Showcases Eldoret Airport Plantation

During the recent Kenya Forest Growers Association (KEFGA) sensitization and awareness creation exercise held in Eldoret Town for Uasin Gishu and surrounding counties, Eldoret Airport was picked as a suitable case study of a successful commercial  plantation.

Below are some of the photos showing the beautiful clonal eucalyptus plantation :-

The uniform clonal plantation is part of the 1600 acreas of land that is earmarked for future expansion of the Airport 

The Uasin Gishu County Executive-Environment Mrs. Mary Njogu (2nd L) accompanied by KEFGA Chairman, Gen.(Rtd) Humphrey Njoroge and Eldoret Airport Manager Mr. Peter Wafula touring the plantation.   
 

The airport has already embarked on a second phase of planting to ensure that at all times the plantation has trees at different rotations
